Uttar Pradesh head of government Yogi Adityanath said on Wednesday that the "One District One Product" program would create more than 20 Lakh jobs in the state and help curb the migration of unemployed young people in the state.
Yogi Adityanath said that Uttar Pradesh is the heir to the glorious legacy of the ancient saints, Sages, Buddha Mahatma, Jain Tirthankars and Ramayana where each region / district has a unique identity in the form of arts and crafts traditional skills and products. CM stated that the ODOP will go a long way in preserving the ancient and traditional arts and crafts of the state.
The UP has a huge potential for employment in traditional and small-scale handicrafts. industries, but the previous government in the state never has The Chief Minister has addressed the first UP Diwas function where Vice President Venkiah Naidu has officially launched the ODOP program.
"Our motto is to create a developed state with a rich cultural heritage and enough talent to catapult the state to the top of the country.The basic idea is to stop the migration of young people to other states in search and the government is working on projects so that every young person gets a job in the state according to his talent and abilities, "said the chief minister.
Regarding Shilp Gram, the chief minister of the program said that "the government officials had no idea of the future use of 'shilpgram' and thought it would serve as a wedding hall. The "Gram Shilp" would now be the hub of all activities related to ODOP, Craft and MSME units. The "Gram Shilp" is being developed by the state government at a capital cost of Rs 200 crore which is spread over 20 acres.
The Chief Minister said, "UP diwas is a moment of great pride for all of us because we will deliberate on ancient culture and traditions to develop the new direction for the overall development of the State by bringing together all stakeholders on a platform''. The Chief Minister also expressed his gratitude to Vice President Venkiah Naidu for giving his consent to be the main guest of the UP Diwas program.
The minister said that during the last ten months of the BJP government, projects worth Rs 80,000 crore have been launched for the agricultural sector and that projects worth Rs 25,000 crore would be launched today. He said the state government has ensured DC power in the state.
"The government is making rapid strides for the development of the infrastructure in the state. The 340 Km long eight lane Poorvanchal expressway costing Rs 23,000 crore would be completed in next 24 months and the prime minister Narendra Modi would lay the foundation of the project in march next’’, announced the chief minister. CM said that his government has also taken up the development works in 1,655 villages which had been ignored by the previous governments in last 70 years and surprisingly they were not even enrolled in the electoral rolls.
Yogi Adityanath also appreciated UP governor Ram Naik for promoting the idea to hold the foundation day of the state 'UP Diwas' programme , which is being held for the first time after the state was constituted on January 24,1950.
The Industrial Development Commission (IDC) Anup Chandra Pandey said, "State government wants to help the district-specific industries and products gain national and international recognition through branding, marketing support and easy credit.'' UP is uniquely famous for product-specific traditional industrial hubs across 75 districts, including Varanasi (Banarasi silk saris), Bhadohi (carpets), Lucknow (chikan), Kanpur (tannery industry and leather goods), Agra (leather footwear), Aligarh (locks), Moradabad (brassware), Meerut (sports goods) and Saharanpur (wooden products).
